Before moving to the US from Beijing, as you might expect, I hadn’t fully understood American culture. So when I finally landed, it felt like I entered into a wildly new world with many new obstacles and cultural barriers. Some of my home grown Chinese values were immediately challenged when I arrived.

Throughout the past two years, I’ve been documenting my travels around Europe, Asia, and America. While I first intended this website to simply be a place to document my favorite travels, my new goal is to provide a platform that builds a bridge between my two cultures - China and the US.

I believe that memories, and even deeper cultural interactions, can be preserved through the art of photography. Using this blog, I aim to provide a lense for Chinese viewers to get a glimpse of what life in America is like, and vice versa. Although this is just the beginning of my journey into travel and photography, I want to inspire others to take on the idea of not just “documenting” their own experiences, but reaching out into another culture, into something new and uncomfortable and strange, in order to form a better understanding it.
